Cultivate the delicate and delicious "Winter Mushroom" with professional-grade precision. Renowned in culinary circles for its crisp texture and mild, fruity aroma, Flammulina velutipes (Enoki) is a cold-weather favorite prized for both its gourmet appeal and its immune-boosting polysaccharides. Our specialized substrate is engineered to replicate the cool, decaying wood environments of temperate forests, ensuring a prolific harvest of elegant, slender clusters.
Why Choose Our Enoki Mushroom Substrate? While Enoki is adaptable, producing the long, noodle-like stems and small caps favored in Asian cuisine requires a specific balance of high nitrogen and consistent hydration. Our blend utilizes 100% organic, fine-milled hardwood sawdust fortified with rice bran to fuel the rapid, dense mycelial growth this species is known for.
- Optimized for "Noodle" Growth: Formulated with a specific nutrient density that encourages the long, succulent stipes (stems) characteristic of commercial-grade Enoki.
- Guaranteed Sterility: Every bag is processed at 15 PSI for 120 minutes in a commercial autoclave, ensuring your F. velutipes mycelium has a "clean slate" to colonize rapidly without competition.
- Precision Hydration: Enoki thrives in high-moisture environments; our substrate is hydrated to a perfect 63-65% to support heavy flushes without the risk of waterpooling or anaerobic spots.
- Cold-Trigger Ready: Designed to respond effectively to "cold shocking," allowing growers to easily initiate fruiting by mimicking the first frost of winter.

How to Grow Enoki at Home- Inoculate: Use liquid culture or grain spawn. For best results, perform inoculation in a still air box or in front of a HEPA flow hood to maintain absolute sterility.
- Incubate: Store the bag in a dark area at room temperature (20°C–24°C). Enoki mycelium is wispy and white, typically colonizing the bag within 2–3 weeks.
- Cold Shock & Fruit: Once fully colonized, place the bag in a cold environment (4°C–10°C) for 48 hours to trigger fruiting. Move to a fruiting space with high humidity (90%+) and low light.
- The "Bottle" Method: To achieve long stems, keep the bag's plastic pulled high around the developing mushrooms. This restricts fresh air and encourages the mushrooms to "reach" upward for oxygen.
- Harvest: Harvest your Enoki in dense clusters when the stems reach your desired length (usually 10–15cm) and before the caps begin to flatten out.
Grower’s Note: Flammulina velutipes is a true "winter" mushroom. If your growing space is too warm, the mushrooms may develop tough, fuzzy stems. For the most tender, gourmet-quality harvest, keep your fruiting temperatures strictly below 15°C. Our 0.2-micron filter patch ensures the mycelium breathes during incubation while preventing any wild molds from entering during the high-humidity fruiting phase.
