Cultivate the legendary "Black Reishi" with professional-grade precision. Known in traditional practices as a rare and potent variant of the Lingzhi family, Ganoderma sinense is prized for its deep, obsidian-like sheen and unique bioactive profile. Our specialized substrate is engineered to replicate the dense hardwood environments where these dark beauties thrive, ensuring a robust harvest of medicinal-grade mushrooms.
Why Choose Our Black Reishi Substrate? While G. sinense shares some similarities with its red cousin, it often requires a more nutrient-dense and physically stable base to develop its characteristic woody density. Our blend uses 100% organic, broadleaf hardwood sawdust fortified with specific minerals to promote the deep pigmentation and thick "lacquer" that defines this species.
- Superior Nutrient Density: Formulated with a precise ratio of organic nitrogen supplements and calcium sulfate to support the long, slow metabolic process of Black Reishi.
- Guaranteed Sterility: Every bag is processed at 15 PSI for 120 minutes in a commercial autoclave, providing a "clean slate" for your mycelium to dominate without competition.
- Engineered Moisture Retention: G. sinense has a long fruiting cycle; our substrate is hydrated to a precise 60-62% to maintain internal humidity over several months without the need for frequent misting.
- Aesthetic & Potency Focused: Designed to support the growth of large, dark, shelf-like conks that are rich in triterpenes and polysaccharides.

How to Grow Black Reishi at Home- Inoculate: Use a liquid culture or grain spawn. We recommend using a still air box or flow hood to maintain sterility during the injection.
- Incubate: Store the bag in a warm, dark area (22°C–26°C). G. sinense mycelium is famously bright white and very aggressive during this stage.
- Fruit: Once fully colonized, move to a fruiting environment. For the iconic dark "conk" look, provide increased fresh air exchange (FAE) while maintaining 85%+ humidity.
- Harvest: Harvest your Black Reishi when the white growing edge turns dark brown or black and the cap feels woody and firm.
